 Bugging out with the kids/infants
I have a 3 year old and an 8 month old. Does anyone have any special "gear" that they pack for children and/or infants?

Just the usual stuff to cover their needs, then I double it.
I also keep too large clothes packed, just a change or two, something for them to grow into should it ever come to it.

Re: Bugging out with the kids/infants
I kept a "go bag" of infant stuff for all of my kids (now 7, 6, 3). It had a few days worth of stuff in it. The thought was that if things were so bad that we had no time to grab the stuff we use daily, then the bag would give us a few days to acquire more. There's not much worse than when your baby is hungry and you have nothing for it. The items in the vacuum sealing are diapers and blankets, and a few cloth diapers. You can tell from the size of the bottles that this was for a newborn; the formula is in the bottles. As the kids got older, we swapped out larger sized diapers and bottles and anything else that changed. And it all fit inside the bag we got from the hospital:

Not sure how diapers are/were taken care of on your end, but when mine was in diapers my wife insisted on putting the soiled ones in ziploc baggies. It did help with the smell. So tossing is a pack of ziploc baggies into all of that may be a good idea.
and I didn't see any baby wipes, those things are like gold.

Ziplocks, garbage bags, paracord, and duck tape are some items you honestly cannot stock enough of.

Re: Bugging out with the kids/infants
I built this kit within the (literally) first few days of my first child being born, so I didn't have the experience that I do now. I didn't grab wipes in this first iteration of the "baby kit." They were quickly added though. Heck, my last kid is just about to get out of diapers and I told my wife to buy another box of wipes anyway, as they're always good to have around.
