Post Anyone here a trainer?
I've been thinking about taking some classes to stay sharp, since it will be two years since I have been to the range for any fun time.... Anyway, has anyone taken the NRA classes or Instructor level classes? Or do you just go for the "real" pros like Thunder and Gunsite and Saurez?

How do you stay on target when work gets in the way to train?

I am not a trainer for small arms, but I have been a trainer for the US Army in basic skills like land nav, first aid and Basic Rifle Marksmanship, NBC and the like and in my old civilian job an "associate trainer" for back stopping the full time team.

To better answer your question about training when work/ life gets in the way. Time Management. Even if it is dry firing your primary weapon for twenty minutes every third week end for twenty minutes is better than nothing at all.

Heck, get your rifle/shot gun put a dime on the tip of the barrel and attempt to fire ten times, without the dime falling off.

This will train you to watch your breathing, trigger pull and if you do it right, sight picture/ sight alignment.

Also after the weapons time, Maintenance, both a prep skill a survival skill and training.

Hope this helps.
